Our refreshed sustainability strategy is founded on responsible mining and operating principles aligned to the IRMA standard.
Sustainability is an integral part of how we conduct business and is fully integrated into our refocused strategy and underpins all that we do. Our refocused strategy concentrates on delivering superior economic (shareholder) value to prioritise sustainability, while seeking to minimise risks that impact business resilience, and building on opportunities for value realisation.
The revised sustainability strategy is anchored to an ambition to play a leadership role to protect and create value, focused on climate and energy, ethical value chains and local communities – to build a more resilient organisation, society, and environment. Moreover, to continue strengthening our focus on executing targeted initiatives to improve our leading sustainability performance and governance, and the management of our material ESG issues.
We remain deeply committed to aligning our corporate investments with our sustainability policies and strategies in line with the UN SDG 2030 Agenda, to continue setting ambitious targets and to increase our share of SDG-aligned investments. We will continue to operate in line with the principles of the UN Global Compact, focusing on human rights, labour standards, environmental sustainability, and anti-corruption as key business foundations of our sustainability governance.
